Town of Wadena Recycling Program
A new collection area has been set up in Wadena for you recyclable materials.
Twelve blue recycling bins have been located next to the Town of Wadena maintenance shop at 106 Second Street S.W. Bins for tin cans, glass, plastic, office paper, magazines, cardboard, newspapers and a larger bin for milk cartons and jugs have been set up at this new site.
Recyclable materials can be placed in plastic grocery bags and deposited in the appropriate bin. Tin cans, glass and plastic must be washed clean and lids removed.

Landfill Site: 5 miles N on Highway 35, 1 mile west, 1 mile north (Watch for signs)
Landfill Hours of Operation
Monday, Thursday, Saturday
April 1 – October 31: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
November 1 – March 31: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

The following items can also be recycled or disposed of as indicated:
Appliances: Items such as stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers and water heaters can be dropped off at the landfill. These items are put into separate area for recycling.
Beverage Containers: Sarcan Wadena (Mallard Inc.) accepts all deposit beverage containers and will refund to you the Saskatchewan deposit you paid at purchase. Wine bottles, when available can be purchased form Mallard Inc. for home wine making.
Beer Bottles: Return for refund to the Liquor Board Store or for a reduced refund to Sarcan Wadena.
Clothing/Fabric: Can be dropped off at Mallard Inc. for their use or for shipment to Value Village. They can also be donated to the Canadian Diabetic Association who will pick up at your home. Call (306) 477-4232
Compost Material: Within the Town of Wadena; Leaves, grass, garden tops must be placed in a clear plastic bags and will be picked up by the Town of Wadena. Please contact the Town of Wadena at 338-2145 for pickup dates.
Confidential Shredding: Can be done at Mallard Inc. for $0.13/pound for any papers that you want recycled but not read due to their confidential nature.
Construction Waste: Can be dropped off at the Landfill.
Egg Cartons: Can be dropped off at Mallard Inc. for reuse.
Electronics: Can be dropped off at Mallard Inc. for recycling.
Glass: Clean household glass with lids removed can be dropped off at Mallard Inc.
Milk cartons/jugs: Can be dropped off at Mallard Inc. or in the blue bins at the Town recycling area.
Oil and Filters: Oil, Filters and oil containers can be recycled at Mallard Inc. from April to November or year round at the Eco-Centre in Wynyard.
Plastics: Any clean household plastic containers can be dropped off at Mallard Inc. or in the blue bins at the Town recycling area.
Paint Cans: Full or empty paint cans can be dropped off at Sarcan Wadena.
Tin Cans: Clean soup, vegetable, etc cans can be dropped off at Mallard Inc. or the blue bins at the Town recycling area.
