Public notice is hereby given to inform the citizens of Wadena and area that the Town of Wadena has hired the Commissionaires South Saskatchewan to enforce the following bylaws for the Town of Wadena.

04-2018 Business License Bylaw
05-2014 Fence & Town-owned Property Bylaw
06-2011 General Penalty Bylaw
05-2005 Litter Control Bylaw
10-2002 Noise Bylaw
08-2005 Nuisance Abatement Bylaw
16-1994 Open-Fire Bylaw
04-2004 Traffic Bylaw
02-1987 Zoning Bylaw
The contract will commence June 1, 2019 for a period of five months to October 31, 2019.
The Commissionaires will be easily identifiable as they will be wearing uniforms and driving identifiable decaled vehicles. The Commissionaires will have full authority to enforce the bylaws of the Town of Wadena.
Although the Commissionaires' purpose will be to enforce our bylaws, the initial period will be more education than enforcement. Residents of Wadena will be given ample opportunity to comply with Town bylaws; however, compliance with our bylaws will be required. Copies of these bylaws are available at our office or on our website. Failure to comply with bylaws could result in further action taking place including such steps as issuing an “Order to Remedy”, fines, and compliance completed by the Town of Wadena with the costs being charged to the bylaw offender.
The Commissionaires are being hired to serve the residents of Wadena and should be treated with respect.
