Garbage & Recycling Collection
The Town of Wadena contracts Greenland Waste to provide garbage and recycling services for residents. Collection takes place once per week.

As this is a contracted service, please contact Greenland directly at (306) 763-3133 for any concerns relating to your curbside garbage and recycling pickup. For all other concerns, please contact the Town.

Recycling

The Town accepts the following items:
  • Automotive batteries may be dropped off in front of the Town Shop located at 106 2nd St SW. 
  • Scrap metal and small appliances may be dropped off in the Town Shop's 30 cubic bin. Please note that refrigerators and freezers are not accepted at the Town Shop and must be hauled to the landfill. 
  • Household batteries may be dropped off at the Town Office in the collection box from Call2Recycle. To learn more about what to recycle, here's the Battery Recycling Guide.

Used smartphones can be donated to the Phone it Forward program, through the Wadena & District Lions Club.
  1. Pick up an envelope at Wadena News
  2. Visit phoneitforward.ca
  3. Mail in your used smartphone
  4. Get a tax receipt
