Commercial Building Permits

The Town of Wadena contracts with Tweidt Building Code Enforcement Services for all Commerical Building projects. This service is in place to enforce municipal building bylaws, the Uniform Building and Accessibility Standards (UBAS) Act, and the National Building Code of Canada (NBC) as amended by the UBAS Regulations.  

Meet your Commercial Building Inspector

Ty Tweidt is a Province of Saskatchewan licenced Building Official that carries Class 3 Certificates – allowing him to provide Building Official Service for any and all types of buildings. Mr. Tweidt is a member in good standing with the Saskatchewan Building Officials Association (SBOA); and,  in addition, is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) – and a member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).

To submit a Commercial Permit application, please refer to the information listed below. A fully completed Commercial Permit Application Form, along with all drawing requirements must be submitted to the Community Development Services Department at the Town of Wadena municipal office. Once received, the request is taken to council for approval and then to the Building Official for final approval. Please note this is prior to issuing the Commercial Building Permit and this process can take 1 - 4 business weeks. It is highly suggested to submit as early as possible.
